A former navigation quartermaster onboard the USS Nebraska nuclear ballistic submarine, a San Francisco Giants "homer", and a Red Hot Chili Peppers fan. I'm a pretty eclectic guy, a 20-something newsman who loves working in the radio business. Born in Stillwater, OK (Go OSU Cowboys!) but raised here in the Valley.
Somewhat addicted to the internet, and always looking for something to make me laugh, I'm also a new uncle recently. My nephew, Adam, is one of the best things in my life, and I love to be the "cool uncle".
Between gaming, sports, cooking and trying to learn the bass guitar, I keep busy here at KFIV and Clearchannel Radio. I love talk radio and interacting with listeners, so if you hear something that makes you laugh and want to pass it on, I read every email I get from listeners and reply to them all.
Anytime I feel bad about my car being old and beat up, this will make me feel better.

Kuwabara, kuwabara...
I'm going to keep this short and sweet, but I would like to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. I hope this time of year finds you well, and despite the fact that everyone is quick to spout "the reson for the season" at Christmas time, I think saying it now seems to be appropriate as well.
Thanksgiving is a time of reflection and to see what you have in your life and be thankful for the blessings we often overlook. Family, friends, job success, health, happiness, love.
I'm going to be spending Thanksgiving alone, as is becoming a fast habit, but I am still very thnkful for the life I live. Most of all, I'm thankful for the time and memories I am able to keep, of the person I wasn't.
Hopefully, you all find something to have thanks for and find your holidays to be full of joy.

Kuwabara, kuwabara...
Today marks a sad day in U.S. history. The first details of the Ft. Hood shooting have just come in and we, as a nation sit here and try and understand why the senseless act happened. Was it a terrorist act? Terrorism is supposed to be an act used for political gain and motivation. I'm not sure this fits that definition. As the producer and call screener for Afternoons Live, I spent the majority of the day reminding callers to the show to tread lightly when talking from their passion. I was in the military for 9/11, and I know the emotional reaction an event like this can cause.
I don't know what happened today, but one caller took time to remind me on the show that we needed to make sure we were referring to clips, not magazines when speaking of the ammunition needed for a shooting of this magnitude. Somehow, I think that bit of information, while possibly incorrect, was missing the big picture. People died today. 12 at the last report, senselessly. And you have the gall to nitpick the verbage and nomenclature we used to talk about the item which held the killers ammunition. Needless to say, that caller didn't go on air.
At times like this, whatever your belief, please don't lose the big picture here. This is a tragedy, and we would do well to focus on how to ensure this doesn't happen again, instead of overlooking the painting to critique the frame.

Also: on a side note, just wanna say hi to some of the people I've linked here. And since I was reminded to update here by a twitter buddy, "Hi heyitsshlay!"
